Carey Powers grew up in Southern California and moved to Santa Fe thirteen years ago. She is passionate about supporting all the healthy relationships at the Santa Fe Farmer’s Market, relationships which nourish the earth, local community, and farmer families. It gives her joy to administer or give support around the amazing equitable food access programs we have here in New Mexico. Carey is also a professor at the Institute of American Indian Arts, where she graduated with an MFA in Poetry in 2019. She has previously worked in restaurants and at World Market in the gourmet department. She is very grateful to be working with an excellent and dedicated staff from whom she learns on a weekly basis. In her spare time, she writes poetry and adventures around New Mexico.
