Buttered Watermelon Radishes
Last Thanksgiving, I was asked to bring an appetizer for a small gathering. I wanted to prepare something simple and colorful and tasty, and decided on buttered watermelon radishes. Hardly anything could be simpler, and it was such a big hit with my companions, who’d never eaten buttered radishes before, that I’ve since served this frequently.
Besides being a good appetizer, buttered watermelon radishes are make a good open-faced sandwich. I like them on ciabatta atop a little arugula, and however I eat them, I like them with salt.
