The Mobile Produce Market brings food from Santa Fe Farmers’ Market vendors directly into local neighborhoods, eliminating common barriers to access such as transportation and mobility, time, parking, and affordability.

Removing Barriers to Fresh Food Access

By bringing the market to the community, the Mobile Produce Market removes obstacles that often prevent families, seniors, and individuals from accessing fresh, nutritious food, including:

  • Transportation and mobility challenges

  • Limited time and inconvenient market hours

  • Parking constraints

  • Cost and affordability

Supporting Local Farmers

The Mobile Produce Market creates new, reliable sales outlets for local farmers by aggregating produce from Santa Fe Farmers’ Market vendors and connecting them with customers they might not otherwise reach.

This model strengthens the local food economy while expanding access to fresh, locally grown food.

Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB)

Making Fresh, Local Food More Affordable

Many New Mexicans face food insecurity and limited access to fresh, nutritious food. Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) helps close this gap by doubling the value of SNAP benefits when used to purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables.

Administered by the Santa Fe Farmers’ Market Institute since 2010, DUFB increases families’ purchasing power while supporting local farmers and strengthening the regional food economy.

How It Works

  • SNAP shoppers purchase tokens at Santa Fe Farmers’ Markets

  • Every dollar spent is matched dollar-for-dollar

  • Participants buy twice as much fresh, local produce at no extra cost

Why It Matters

DUFB helps families afford healthier food, reduces reliance on processed options, and invests in community health across northern New Mexico.

Our Impact

In 2025 alone, the Santa Fe Farmers’ Market Institute administered $293,000 in SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks, expanding access to healthy food for our community.
