Created to support the Santa Fe Farmers Market’s efforts to make healthy, locally-grown food easily accessible to families in northern New Mexico, the Santa Fe Farmers Market Institute “Seeds The Future” with support from businesses, foundations, government sources, and individuals. In 2021, 35% of the Institute’s unearned income came directly from individual donors just like you.

Volunteer contributions of time and talent are appreciated in a number of areas of the Institute’s work: office support and special event production are just two. At the Market on Tuesday’s and Saturdays, specially-trained volunteers help serve our customers at the fast-paced Information Booth and in serving as Docents.

Why support the Santa Fe Farmers’ Market Institute?

Your contribution will help to:

Ensure wide community access to healthy food through Double Up Food Bucks, a program that doubles SNAP transactions and increases shoppers’ purchasing power;
Allow us to continue to offer microloans, scholarships, and training opportunities to help farmers build and grow their businesses, bring more and better produce to the market, and help feed our community;
Enable us to support preserving precious land and water resources dedicated to low carbon, small-scale farming;
And helps keep the Farmers’ Market Pavilion clean and safe for the community while providing a place for local farmers to gather weekly in order to sell their exceptional fruits, vegetables, flowers, and other offerings.

Is this donation tax deductible?

The Institute is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. We’ll send it to you upon successful completion of your donation.

Will I get a receipt?

A donation receipt will be sent to you at the email address you provide at checkout. Please be sure to keep a copy of your receipt for tax purposes.

How often will I be charged?

All donations are considered one-time contributions unless designated as recurring by the donor.
